Getting To The Root Of It

In this project, I used alginate to cast my mother's hands. Her knobby fingers reminded me of roots. I joined these with a found root that reminded me of the sternum. I combined this with a resin casting of a piece of wood that looks like an anatomical heart. This piece will be part of a larger body of work including Video Performance Art.
